Reminder of our Policy on Mobile Phones

At Kaitāia College, we are committed to fostering a focused and positive learning environment for all students. To support this, we are reminding parents/caregivers of our mobile phone policy from 2024 that aligns with changes in school laws around phone usage.

Key Points:
  • School Hours: Mobile phones must be switched off and kept in students' bags during school hours (when they enter the school grounds in the morning until the end of day at – 3:05pm).
  • Contacting Students: If a student needs to contact a parent or caregiver, they may do so via the student services. Parents/caregivers can also reach students by calling the school office at 09 408 0190.
  • Confiscation Process: Phones will be confiscated if seen during school hours. They can be collected by parents/caregivers on Monday to Friday between 3:15 pm and 4:00pm.

Support for Our Students: We appreciate your support in reinforcing this policy at home. If you need to contact your child during the day, please do so through the school office at 09 408 0190.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a positive learning environment.

Ngā mihi,
