Te Puna Aroha

Welcome to our unit for students who may have learning difficulties and who cannot always be in the mainstream classes. 

Although they face daily challenges, they always give them their best shot.

Friends of C7

Mrs Margaret Coogan was our Head of Department for our Special Needs Unit for several years. This unit was located over in our C Block classroom (C7). Margaret began the Friends of C7 group to show the students they belong.

The Special Needs Unit became Te Puna Aroha several years ago with Margaret still at the helm. She has now moved on to greener pastures and Meredydd Barrar is now the Head of Learning Area.

Our students are involved in work experience throughout our Community and attend the majority of the Athletes With a Disability competitions. They are involved in most aspects of school life and enjoy every moment of their time here.

Over the years we have had some awesome students at this Unit and it is always sad to see them leave.
