Enhancing well being is a top priority here at our kura. We aim to provide support and care in a safe and uplifting environment. The support we provide here is varied and individualized; it is paramount for our kura to be a place where young people feel they belong and can contribute.
We acknowledge that adolescence is a time of significant change - a passage towards adulthood and independence. We understand this unique journey, with highs and lows, and emphasize that at some point everyone needs tautoko.
Our guidance centre is where we provide understanding and support:
Our Guidance Team
Our team is here to work with young people, their whānau and the school to develop plans to enhance their safety, wellbeing and educational outcomes. After receiving a referral for a student, our team works to ensure the best support is provided, partnering with the young person to process and explore what outcomes can be achieved.
Collaborating with community agencies is also central to our team as we provide the support needed for our young people. We access support from any of the following: counsellors, GPs, psychologists, youth workers, mentors, youth aid officers etc. They may either come into the school to see students or alternatively students can be seen outside of school.

Client confidentiality is a core principle of the Counselling partnership at this college. Confidentiality will only be broken if harm/safety becomes an issue to either self or other. Confidentiality is paramount to maintaining an open and trusting relationship with clients.
