The College has trained Student Mediators available for students in need of support. Kaitaia College student mediators - Y2M (Yes to Mediation).

Mediators at Kaitaia College are part of a whole school approach in dealing with repairing the hurt and harm through a formalised process; and fits neatly alongside Restorative Practices. The ‘Violence and NZ Young People Report 2007’ states that many young people are not talking to adults about the violence they experience and are not accessing the help that they need.
